Mother-to-child transmission is UP 34% in PNG according to the latest NAC report.

Mother-to-child transmission is UP 34% in PNG according to the latest NAC report.

Read that again. Up 34%.

That’s not just a number.
That’s mothers. That’s babies. That’s our future in Papua New Guinea.

PNG Needs Action. Not Fear.

For too long, shame and silence have kept pregnant women away from clinics.
But hiding does not protect the baby.

The truth is simple, and the NAC report proves it:

With proper action, HIV can be stopped from mother to child.

What Must Happen NOW:

1. Go to Antenatal Checkups.
Every pregnant woman must go to the clinic as soon as she knows she is pregnant.
Early testing saves lives.

2. Take the Medicine.
ARV medicine during pregnancy works. It protects the baby in the womb.

3. Follow Safe Breastfeeding Advice.
Nurses will tell you the safest way to feed your baby to prevent transmission.
Listen to them.

The result?.
A mother living with HIV can give birth to a HEALTHY, HIV-NEGATIVE baby.
100%. It is possible.

This is Our Responsibility.

To the husbands: Support your wife to go to the clinic.
To the churches: Talk about this. Break the shame.
To the leaders: Put more medicine and nurses in rural clinics.
To the women: You are not alone. Go. Get tested. Get treated.

We cannot let another 34% increase happen.

One mother. One clinic visit. One healthy baby.
That’s how we turn this number around.

PNG, we need action TODAY.
